HONK JR: Projections

Set Projections

Set Projections

We decided to represent the unique geography of Iceland. We created three structures based on the rocks of Reynisfjara, known as the black beach. To convey the idea that the rocks are "alive" and the landscape is in a constant state of flux, we dynamically reposition the structures on the stage. We utilized video mapping to project images of various locations in Iceland onto them.

The frog was the character representing the thousands of tourists that visit Iceland every year.  It is a Colombian frog that, during the show, gets lost and is always trying to get warm. It is also uncomfortable for the Icelandic population as it is not very respectful and does everything just to take a picture. It trip to Iceland is the beginning of the show.

The hidden people are dressed in the same color as the structures so they can hide in the projection to watch what is happening in the story.

The dancers embody the magic spirits of Iceland.  They are the ancestors who are taking care of their loved ones.
