"The evidence is now beyond dispute. When schools work together with families to support learning,
children tend to succeed not just in school, but throughout life."Anne Henderson and Nancy Berla
(A New Generation of Evidence: the Family is Crucial to Student Achievement. National Committee for Citizens in Education, 1994)
Research shows time and time again that the home-school partnership is a key factor to ensure student success. CNG adheres to its vision statement through the ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive, intentional curriculum that foments character for all community members. Central to our work are the school's Core Values of Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, and Caring.
A strong and positive home-school partnership enhances the likelihood of a student improving his/her academic success, social skills and behavior. It also positively impacts those beyond the individual child, including his/her class, teachers and the entire school community. We believe that the power of this approach is magnified when we work together as a community.
We are all teachers of character, regardless of our role!

Our CNG Community Commitments and Pledge regarding Covid-19
RESPONSIBILITY: We will ensure the reporting of confirmed Covid-19 cases to the Secretaría de Salud and also consider voluntarily self-reporting to CNG for internal tracking purposes.
For reporting flu-like symptoms: Report Symptoms
For reporting medically tested and confirmed cases of Covid-19: Report Tested and Confirmed Cases.
We will seek the advice of medical professionals and observe self-quarantine, if tested positive, for the health and well-being of others. We will consider informing those close to us at home and work to advise them about monitoring themselves more closely for symptoms.
RESPECT: We will allow each person the right to decide how, when, and to whom they want to communicate any cases of Covid-19 within their family. We will respect the privacy of others by not sharing their information without their direct permission.
INTEGRITY: We will not use communication channels and social media chats in ways that fail to protect the right to privacy of a student or family. We will not discuss individual cases of community illness in the chats or by phone nor attempt to seek out specific names among our fellow community members, which would violate our Core Values and protection of data laws as well as serve no productive purpose in building strong solidarity. We will have the courage to take action and let others know if they are violating our CNG Code of Honor, which values and protects each individual's worth, rights, dignity, and boundaries.
CARING: We will act with compassion, kindness, and empathy toward others to promote positive relationships and greater understanding within our school community. Please take note that CNG will only be reporting tested and confirmed cases of Covid19. CNG follows Colombian law for the protection of data. Related to flu-like symptoms without a positive test result, we will be analyzing your reports from that separate form to look for trends in the data by class, grade level, and school. If the data show usually high spikes in cases, then we will inform parents at the respective grade level or building division.
