

Middle School
Grade 6:
It is an important transition where athletics begins to balance both participation and learning to train. Students develop sport-specific skills, teamwork, and game understanding in a supportive environment without the pressure of official tournaments. The 6th graders will not compete in UNCOLI tournaments, allowing them to concentrate on learning the rules, refining techniques, and building confidence to prepare for future competitive opportunities.
Grades 7- 8
Middle school athletes are ready to begin to train and compete in a program that matches their personal interests, goals, and developmental needs. Athletes start to grasp the commitment necessary and the skill sets needed to excel at the next competitive level. The middle school years are also an important time to develop physical activity habits that promote health and fitness, so the focus is on participation, as well as competition.
The CNG middle school athletic program focuses on-
- Increasing focused sports-specific training
- Emphasizing multi-sport participation
- Applying the skills, strategies, and tactics learned in formal competitions
- Developing self-worth, self-confidence, and sports-specific psychological skills
- Active participation in sports that fit personal interests (individual and team)
Middle school program active offerings-
- CNG Athletics- Interscholastic competitions in soccer, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, climbing, table tennis, weight training (training only).
High School- Grades 9-12
High school is an important time for teenagers to keep fit and explore opportunities in a broad range of sports and physical activities. It’s also a chance for some to pursue excellence and achievement in athletics.
The CNG high school athletic program focuses on-
- Focused training
- Active and formalized competition
- Specialization in desired sports
- Continuing to develop habits for a lifelong active lifestyle
High school program active offerings-
CNG Athletics- Interscholastic competitions in soccer, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, table tennis, weight training (training only)
Middle School:
-School entry & exit before and after sports practice: 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students will arrive and leave through the bridge gate if they come walking. For those who are dropped off and picked up by vehicle, the 4 Este will be enabled. When entering campus for morning practice, please arrive before 6:45 to avoid congestion with the PS/ES arriving students. If the arrival time is after 6:45 please wait until 7:10 to enter campus.
-Students currently enrolled with CNG transportation: If your child currently utilizes CNG transportation, no payment changes will be reflected in your billing statement. They may start using the transportation Monday, August 26. The transportation office will send your child’s transportations details, you can contact the transportation office at transportation@cng.edu .
-Students currently NOT enrolled with CNG Transportation: If you would like to register your child in the CNG transportation service, please contact transportation@cng.edu .CNG will provide options for the transportation method that will be best for your family. Please be aware that the transportation service will only offer routes within the pre-established transport sectors. Students will not be able to use the transportations service until provided with a confirmation email from the transportation office with route confirmation.
