Welcome and thank you for your interest in CNG’s Gifted and Talented program. Here we believe that every student has the right to optimal development. Each person is unique; therefore we are committed to an educational program that recognizes the special value and needs of the individual student. Providing programs and materials for gifted students who perform at or show the potential for performing at a remarkable high level of accomplishment when compared to others of the same age, experience, or environment is an integral part of this commitment. We believe that gifted students need a continuum of learning experiences that leads to the development of advanced level products and/or performances. Here at CNG we strive to provide high-ability students with the challenge they deserve and encourage any questions you may have as we address the particular needs of our students.

The following summer programs are well-regard options for gifted and talented children which also accept international students:

Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth: Residential program for students in grades 2 - 12. Various locations throughout the US.
Vanderbilt Summer Academy: Residential academic program for rising 7th - 12th graders in Nashville, TN.
Summer Institute for the Gifted (SIG): Programs for gifted & talented youth ages 5–17. Various Locations throughout the US.

Philosophy and Beliefs of CNG Gifted & Talented Program

CNG Gifted & Talented Program Philosophy

The philosophy of the CNG Gifted & Talented Program is to recognize, identify, and nurture exceptional abilities of students through a continuum of services K4-12. The program provides a viable and differentiated program that allows each of our Gifted & Talented students to reach their unique potential and positively impact the world of today for a better tomorrow. CNG recognizes that an enriched and/or accelerated curriculum are essential, and part of the basic education of Gifted & Talented students in order to meet their personal life-long goals.

CNG recognizes the importance of careful assessment and periodic review to determine what is best for each student. The Gifted & Talented program undergoes systematic review to ensure the CNG Way -- continuous improvement. Students who are identified and served by the Gifted & Talented Program are closely monitored to ensure services are appropriate and within the available resources of CNG.

The CNG Gifted & Talented Program encourages Gifted & Talented students to develop high-level, creative, and productive thinking as well as healthy affective qualities. The program also challenges students with an exceptional, rigorous curriculum, and relevant opportunities to develop individual potential. Students are provided opportunities to deepen understanding, go beyond their course work, and apply their learning to real-life situations.
