SIGN-UP AND REGISTRATION PROCESS
Sign-up for K4-12 grade co-curricular activities will be done online through the Schoolsbuddy™ platform from January 10 through January 14, 2024.
Traditionally, we have been using the Skyward platform for co-curricular activities registration. However, after thorough evaluation, and parent feedback, we have decided to transition to this new platform. We believe this change will bring numerous benefits to our students, parents, and staff, ultimately enriching the co-curricular experience for everyone involved.
The main benefit includes the option in Schoolsbuddy to have prioritized activity selection. This does not mean that you will receive all your first options for activities, but you will no longer be blocked from registering after the activity is full.
Below we highlight some of the Schoolsbuddy benefits:
User-Friendly Interface: Schoolsbuddy has a modern and intuitive interface that simplifies the sign-up process. Parents will find it easy to navigate and access information about available activities, schedules, and any updates related to their child's participation.
Mobile Accessibility: With Schoolsbuddy, you can conveniently access the platform through a mobile application, available for both iOS and Android devices. This means that you can register your child for activities or view schedules on the go, ensuring greater flexibility and convenience.
Customizable Profiles: Schoolsbuddy allows you to create individual profiles for your child, enabling you to input specific details and preferences related to their interests, allergies, and medical requirements. This customization ensures that we have accurate and up-to-date information, allowing us to provide a safe and tailored experience for each student.
Improved Communication: Schoolsbuddy comes with enhanced communication features, including direct messaging between parents, activity coordinators, instructors and coaches. This functionality promotes better collaboration and enables swift and efficient communication, ensuring that you stay informed about any changes or important updates regarding your child's activities.
Comprehensive Activity Listings: Schoolsbuddy offers a comprehensive listing of all co-curricular activities available, along with detailed descriptions and information about each activity. This allows you to make well-informed decisions regarding your child's participation, ensuring they have access to a wide range of enriching opportunities.
Registration process and assignment of activities: Remember that for logistical reasons, the spaces for some activities are limited and there is a possibility that the system will not assign you the activity of your choice.
Due to limited space in some activities, the Schoolsbuddy platform allows you to select more than one activity for the same day so that if the registration numbers for any activity exceed the maximum, your child will be randomly placed in another activity of your choice for the same day. We recommend to sign-up your child in all the choices you want.
If you only select one activity, because you do not want a different activity and the number of registration for that activity reaches the limit, the system may leave you without the selected activity.
We understand that transitioning to a new platform may require some adjustment, and we are committed to supporting you throughout this process. We are sharing detailed instructions on how to set up your Schoolsbuddy account, link your child's profile, and navigate the platform effectively.
We genuinely believe that Schoolsbuddy will improve our co-curricular activity management system, offering a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. We are confident that this transition will contribute to the overall growth and development of our students, allowing them to explore their passions and talents in a structured and efficient manner.
