UTILITIES

All utilities and additional services (water, gas, electricity, and telephone bills) are paid by each staff member. CNG’s HR Department offers support and guidance with this. This is the list of the most common utility bills you will be getting in your apartment:

  • ELECTRICITY: The provider is ENEL/CODENSA. Bills arrive on a monthly basis and can be paid online.**
     
  • WATER: The provider is ACUEDUCTO de Bogotá. Bills arrive every two months and can be paid online.**
     
  • GAS: The provider is GAS NATURAL – VANTI. Bills arrive on a monthly basis and can be paid online.**
     
  • MOBILE PHONE: Bills arrive on a monthly basis and can be paid online. If you bring a cell phone with you, please make sure it is unlocked so that it is compatible with the Colombian system. HR will also guide you through the acquisition of a cell phone in Colombia in case you opt to buy it locally. ***
     
  • INTERNET: There are different providers such as Claro, ETB, and Movistar. In most cases, when the new hires arrive, their apartments already have internet service with Claro. In case certain apartments do not have the internet connection yet, HR will assist the staff member with the installation of the service. Most internet providers also have cable services and landlines if needed. ***

** It is suggested to set up the Colombian bank account for automatic payment of utilities.
***During the first year, the cellphone and internet service will be paid monthly through the School. The new staff member will receive a payroll deduction every month. For the second year, the contract will be assigned to the staff member.
