Condor Activities is a fun-filled learning co-curricular program that contributes to shape well-rounded individuals by teaching and developing their talents, interests, social skills, integration, and character. The program offres a wide variety of options that contribute to the fulfillment of our school’s mission providing activities in areas as art, corporal expression, culinary, languages, music, science & technology, and sports.

Art Workshop

Provides a space for students to explore artistic techniques and materials as they develop creativity and manual dexterity.

Through the use of different techniques and artistic materials, this activity aims to develop students’ fine motor skills in a way that allows them to express their creativity. Our main goal is to strengthen their confidence and motivate them to reach their fullest potential.

Young Engineers

YOUNG ENGINEERS Jr- BIG BUILDERS 

Big Builders enrichment program introduces pre-school aged children to scientific concepts through hands-on experiential learning. Students will be loaned kits with building tools to construct 3D models introducing laws of physics on a basic level through demonstrations of centrifugal force, gravity, mechanical energy, and balance.

Cooking

Mindful Cooking is about being mindful of each step in the cooking process and enriching our senses while cooking. Students will learn strategies to enjoy the present moment and develop life skills, as creativity, intuition and patience, through the art of cooking. While preparing savory and sweet recipes students will learn about the origin of ingredients and recipes, nutrition, and proper use of kitchen utensils, while following a recipe.

Fashion Design ES

Fashion Design ES

Students learn about Colombian designers, basic elements of fashion design and develop basic skills, from illustrating their own creations to choosing color schemes. They learn to make accessories, up-cycle garments, measure, and put together a basic design, and they will apply all their acquired knowledge in a final virtual fashion event.

Students develop creativity, computational thinking and object-oriented programming through STEAM challenges using 3D maps with Minecraft Education Edition.

Parkour

Parkour 

Parkour, also known as Art du Deplacement or Free Running, is the most holistic, instinctive, and natural training method for the human body. Students will train for the ability to move with grace and fluidity over any terrain while making full use of the body’s capacities to overcome physical and mental obstacles allowing for adaptability to their environment.

Scratch Jr. is an initiation programming language that allows non-literate children to create their own interactive stories and games, fitting graphic programming blocks with which they will make their characters move, jump, dance and sing.

They will learn one of the most important rules in the world of programming, the "code sequence".

Sewing Creations ES

Sewing and Embroidery

In this activity we seek to help students develop particular abilities that allow them to design over fabric. Through embroidery techniques students will develop creativity, increase their brain functions, and alleviate stress.

Coding MS

Coding MS

Blockly is a functional block based programming language. Students will apply the main programming rules. Students will have the ability to create graphics and video games among other applications, adding a very close introduction to professional programming languages ​​such as Python and JavaScript.

Sewing, Stuffed Animals and Handbags

We seek to help students improve their motor skills through the use of different textile techniques. Different projects will be completed using needles, fabrics, and thread, where students will be able to explore all their creativity and strengthen their patience. Sewing will allow them to work in abilities as important as coordination and concentration.

Fashion Design MS

Fashion Design MS

Using themes from the Met Gala, we strive to encourage our students to learn about the history of fashion design, the different elements of design and basic sewing techniques. Students will design a collection from scratch, manufacture accessories and a basic garment.

Martial Arts

Martial Arts

Students develop motor skills, coordination, self-control and discipline as self-defense and body awareness are practiced. Motor and mental dexterity are strengthened.

Students have a Ceremony at the end of each semester.

Students will take a test to ensure they are ready to change belt and move to the next level. Test fee will be charged with an additional fee.

Belt colors are divided as follows: 

                        Beginners:  White, Yellow Stripe, Yellow, Orange Stripe, Orange.

                        Intermediate:   Blue, Green Stripe, Green, Purple.

                        Advanced:   Brown III, Brown II, Brown I, Black.

The recommended frequency of classes is two times per week.

For all students enrolled in Orange Stripe belt and above, it is mandatory they take two classes per week due to the technical difficulty and discipline required.

Ballet

Pre ballet

Students develop their motor skills through rhythm and coordination games. Comprehension of the body, its muscles and its posture are achieved in a harmonious, playful group environment.

Ballet

Students develop concentration, flexibility, coordination, and musical rhythm training. Students are encouraged to internalize movement and technical steps until they become automatic and develop muscular strength.

Music

Music Instruments

Quality music instruction, based on the Suzuki method. The program is offered for: Violin, Piano and Guitar. Students must have their own musical instruments at home.

The Condor music program offers top quality music instruction based on the Suzuki teaching method for: Violin, Piano and Guitar.

Instrument lessons are available from Monday to Friday on the following schedules:

  • Primary: 1:40 pm to 3:05 pm
  • Elementary: 3:10 pm to 4:35 pm
  • Elementary: 4:40 pm to 5:20 pm
  • MS & HS:  4:40 pm to 5:20 pm

Lessons will be 40 minutes per student. The schedule will be informed to parents.

Students must register online for the first and second semesters.

The schedules will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis according to the instrument the child is registered in.

Changes in the schedule will be based upon availability.

All students must have their own personal musical instrument

Any additional material requirements and information will be given to parents by the instructor.

Piano students must have a piano or keyboard at home for practice.

We recommend that all piano students use headphones for classes according to any agreements you come to with the instructors.

Parent attendance to the class in K5 and 1st grade is highly recommended.

Attendance in all classes is highly recommended.

Daily practice is highly recommended.

Classes canceled by parents will not be re-scheduled.

Any class canceled by the instructor will be re-scheduled depending on the student’s availability.

There will be a recital at the end of the semester.

It is important to keep in mind that efficient learning when it comes to an instrument depends solely on the amount of effort and daily practice by the student. If the student doesn’t achieve the goals set by the instructor by the end of the semester, he/she will not be present in the recital but rather have an individual presentation during regular class time.

Offers a unique program combining yoga and mindfulness. Classes aim at teaching children to pay attention, increase focus, and balance their emotions-all while building physical strength and flexibility.

Scratch 3.0 is a block programming language that allows the development of computational thinking skills by learning programming without having deep knowledge of code. Students will make animations, scenery changes, comics and video games.

We seek to cultivate in each student personal sense of aesthetic. The use of different materials will allow students to explore the marvelous world of beadwork, within which they will strengthen their fine motor skills and reinforce concepts such as patterns, direction, and sequence

Jewelry & Accesories ES

This activity consists in making all types of accessories using different techniques like loom and Miyuki beads. Students will develop their fine motor skills and sense of coordination. All accessories will be designed by the students who will receive, first of all, graph paper where they can design their ideas using geometric figures. Ancestral techniques will be used to recreate their designs in the loom, this will lead to a push for creativity as well as constancy and patience, which they will learn along the way.

Students develop their skills in areas like movement, coordination, body management, musical coordination and musical rhythm.

Young Engineers PS ES

YOUNG ENGINEERS MOTORIZED LEGO

Students are introduced to the basic principles of mathematics, science, and engineering using motorized LEGO bricks that produce motion. Each child will be loaned the LEGO kit.
