The Colegio Nueva Granada Model encourages youth leadership and supports them in strengthening values such as empathy, respect for difference, and the search for peace and equity. We strive to address a range of social, political, economical, and environmental issues happening in our country and world. We use the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a foundation to promote initiatives that develop justice, reduce inequalities and generate peace and strong institutions that contribute to ideas and projects to solve these problems. The main objective of our model is to create a positive impact through service and social impact.
This year’s MUN theme, "Reparación y No Repetición" (Reparation and Non-Repetition), focuses on fixing the problems caused by past injustices and ensuring they don’t happen again. The goal is to help communities heal and to create solutions that prevent similar harm in the future. This means making laws, policies, and education programs that promote fairness, accountability, and the protection of human rights, so we can build a better and more peaceful world.
The Blue Elephant Award is an initiative where the commission that presents the best working paper has the opportunity to choose a foundation that focuses on the topics discussed. They will be able to grant the selected foundation a monetary donation, which will be presented at the closing of the event. This award sets our model apart from others by directly supporting organizations working to create real change in the areas we address, making the event not just a simulation but a step towards positive action.
