The Bacatá Chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) at Colegio Nueva Granada is guided by its by-laws, which outline the purpose, structure, and responsibilities of the organization. Rooted in CNG’s vision of fostering scholarship, leadership, service, and character, the chapter provides a framework for students to grow as leaders and role models within the school and community.
The by-laws establish the chapter’s name, purpose, and authority, as well as the membership selection process, which is overseen by the Faculty Council through applications, evaluations, and interviews. They also define officer roles, member responsibilities, service commitments, and financial procedures.
In addition, the by-laws regulate chapter meetings, attendance, elections, discipline, and dismissal, ensuring that high standards of conduct are upheld at all times. The roles of the Chapter Advisor and Faculty Council are clearly outlined to provide guidance, oversight, and continuity.
Finally, the by-laws describe the process for amending or revising the rules, ensuring that the chapter remains aligned with both the NHS Constitution and Colegio Nueva Granada's Code of Honor.
The Bacatá Chapter’s by-laws ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability, while preserving the values and traditions of the National Honor Society at CNG.

At Colegio Nueva Granada, membership in the National Honor Society (NHS) is a distinction reserved for students who embody its four pillars: scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Eligible students are identified through their academic and school records and invited to begin the application process.
Selection involves a comprehensive review of applications, teacher input, and an interview. The Faculty Council makes final membership decisions through a majority vote.
All applicants are informed of the results, and those selected are formally inducted during the annual Induction Ceremony.
This process is outlined in Article IV: Membership Selection of the Bacatá Chapter By-Laws.
