MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN) |
![]() |
This system of diplomacy and debate, based on the United Nations, was brought to Colombia by CNG in 1982. Today, more than 40 schools in Colombia and 700 students nationwide participate in the Model. In every conference, student delegates are assigned a diplomatic role to represent a given country. They face international problems, as per adults, and reach viable solutions as a group. MUN provides students with empathy and knowledge of the world they live in, as well as opportunities to analyze, discuss, negotiate, meet people from other schools, and understand how the actual United Nations functions.

ATHLETICS PHILOSOPHY |
![]() |
The role of the Department of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities is to extend the mission and vision of CNG beyond the four walls of the classroom. While the direct focus is strengthening the body to pursue competitive success, we also believe in sports as a vehicle for educating the mind and developing character. Our student athletes may acquire the necessary tools to meet their potential for excellence in the future, both on and off the playing field. Some of the sports offered are: basketball, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, table tennis, track and field, dance, and chess for ES/MS/HS, and Athletics, soccer, gymnastics, and chess for PS.
HOUSES |
|
The schoolwide House System has been a tradition at CNG. All students and teachers belong to one of four Houses: EAGLES, FALCONS, HAWKS, or OSPREY.
Planned House activities throughout the year promote healthy competition, inclusion, and teamwork, while providing opportunities to foster a sense of community and belonging. House Family activities are aligned with our CNG Core Values and bring together students from different grade levels. House activities also contribute to service and leadership activities within the school community.

EXCEPTIONAL LEARNER PROGRAMS |
|
Exceptional Learner Programs encompass CNG’s two special education programs: The Learning Center and the Gifted & Talented Program. The Exceptional Learner programs seek to create an inclusive learning environment that allows all students to be part of our learning community and reach their individual potential. Our programs provide remedial and educational support for students through the Learning Center programs and enrichment and acceleration opportunities through our Gifted & Talented program.
VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
At CNG, we believe in the power of engaging our students in arts education. The arts hold tremendous potential for fostering creativity, enhancing communication, improving academic performance, and boosting social-emotional development. Through the visual arts, music, theater, and dance, students explore ideas, emotions, and perspectives about the world around them. The arts humanize us, lift us up, fire our imaginations and talents, and foster skills and dispositions -- essential for learning and a full life.
In addition to the varied classes offered to our students, there are also opportunities to participate in the Musical, HS Plays, Art Festivals and Exhibitions, School Celebrations, Outside School Performances, AMIS, International Festivals and Travel.
CHARACTER EDUCATION
At CNG, we are purposeful in our efforts to shape our students’ character in preparation for a life well lived by actively fostering social-emotional competencies, growth mindsets, ethical judgment, and reflective capacity. The cross-disciplinary and comprehensive approach that we weave across school life we call Character for Life. We address Character for Life in all core content areas, extracurricular activities, and sports, as well as day-to-day teachable moments. We believe that the power of this approach is magnified when we work together as a community, regardless of our role. CNG was recognized as a Colombia 2020 School of Character by Character. org, the first South American school certified as a School of Character.
