Instrumental Music

Instrumental Music is a beginner level instrumental program offered to 6th grade students. Students are encouraged to choose from different types of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. Our program strives to teach students the value of self discipline through a variety of new challenges while practicing and performing. The goal is to provide a positive musical experience in which students interact with music as performers, listeners, creators, and evaluators.

General Music

General Music class is an exploratory course that meets at specific times during the school day for one quarter. Students are exposed to the experience of learning music with varied approaches. We strive to provide students with hands-on experience with musical instruments such as piano, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and various percussion instruments.

Vocal Music

Middle School Vocal Music is a semester-long course that explores the human voice as the most important musical instrument. In this class students learn the basics of vocal technique, sight-reading, music theory, music history, study of the human voice and vocal health. Teamwork, cooperation, and gaining self confidence through performing are emphasized, as well as individual and group vocal techniques.

Performance Music

Music Performance and Fundamentals is an exploratory curricular course that meets at specific times during the school day throughout the year. This course is focused on the continuation of general music concepts , technical achievement, and acquisition of performance and rehearsal skills through exposure to a variety of repertoire.
